Common Business Operations

The UN Country Team through the Operations Management Team (OMT) has made significant steps to enhance UN business efficiency, including the preparation and implementation of the UN Business Operations Strategy 2013-2015 (BOS). The BOS will have targets on a multi-year basis in order to ensure its alignment with the UN Development Assistance Framework cycle.

The BOS is aimed at implementing common business processes such as provision of UN system common roster, Long Term Agreement for service providers, and common services, which in turn will reduce UN’s operation cost. Currently, information pertaining staff time and actual financial costs of the prioritised common operations mentioned above, is being compiled. The released staff time and savings will be utilised for development assistance.

The Operations Management Team (OMT) supports the UNCT to harmonise and simplify business practices to ensure improve business efficiency.  The UNDP Deputy Country Director (Operations) chairs the inter-agency OMT.  To know more about UN common business operations in Zambia, please contact:
